Is Election Fraud the New Normal?

Massachusetts senatorial candidate Scott Brown's Chief Legal Council is calling for volunteers for Scott Brown's legal team to assemble:

a volunteer team to ensure that every legally cast ballot is accurately counted. The citizens of Massachusetts deserve a fair and honest election.

Given the gyrations the Wisconsin Comedian's legal team executed, this seems a wise move. If the election is close, cheating will occur. It saddens me to conclude that election fraud is the new normal.

UPDATE: Here's a nice summary of a systemic effort to implant election fraud as business as usual.

Election cheating has been going on since the founding of the country. Nixon may have lost in 1960 because of cheating Illinois, Dore may have lost in 2000 because of cheating in Florida.

The Bush V. Gore Supreme Court decision (where all 9 justices had to turn their judicial philosophy on their collective heads to come up with that 5 - 4 ruling) changed everything in elections. The simple fact is that in a close election, the "loser" will toss the election to the courts and see what happens. It worked for Bush. It worked for Franken.

Also, expect dirty tricks and staged for media events like the "Brooks Brothers Riot." Again, Straight from the Republic Party play book.

I think that the Republic Party knows that they are going to lose a relatively close election in Massachusetts and are continuing their strategy of the "birthers" and others to delegitimize the President and the Congress in the minds of the American people. That way, health reform can be cast an illegitimate law passed by an illegitimate government that has illegitimate goals and can thus be repeal by the saviors of America, and the only "freedom loving" Americans, the Republic Party.

It is an interesting strategy that in the long run will backfire.
